Are You Responding To The Synchronicities That Are Calling Your Attention?
Many times when we’re in a challenging situation, like I was many years ago when I collapsed all because of my addiction to “taking one for the team” and working 70-80 hours a week, we’re called to take a different approach to finding solutions.
In my case, as I mentioned in a previous blog, I turned to meditation, and in particular Primordial Sound Meditation which I studied at the Chopra Center. The place I traveled to for those thirty minutes each morning wasn’t like sleep, nor was I dreaming. The best my rational mind could do was to describe it like a crack in this dimension that I was squeezing through each day. It was in meditation that I was receiving guidance for the next phase in my life.
As a result of these meditations, I had three different occurrences in a three-week period of time about the United Nations-affiliated University for Peace in Costa Rica. At first, I thought how bizarre, and then I realized these were signs, what Deepak Chopra refers to as Synchrodestiny. He says there are no coincidences––just guidance.
I wanted to ignore those signs because rationally it just didn’t make sense for me to trek off to Costa Rica and study for a year. Finally, I realized I couldn’t sit in meditation and ask for guidance without taking action. I then applied––and was ultimately accepted––into the program at UPEACE and received my Master’s in International Peace and Conflict Studies.
As I wrote in Jungle: A Journey to Peace, Purpose, and Freedom:
“Logic can often be our biggest nemesis. We frequently make arguments as to why something won’t work or isn’t a good fit for us. Used judiciously and consciously, logic is a great skill set. When we use our logic to make an argument against something that is calling us to a higher level of consciousness or opportunity, we perpetuate the old story and we remain stuck in our current, often unhealthy circumstances.”
So I ask you to consider:
- What synchronicities are calling your attention?
- What are they asking of you?
- How are you responding?
I’d love to hear what’s going on in your life.
