Learn To See The Best In Yourself And Others!
Many of us were raised with an inner critic, that little voice inside of us that gives us a play by play of all that is wrong within us and around us. We constantly criticize ourselves for not meeting deadlines, saying the wrong thing, eating too much, or skipping our workout. We fail to see all the good that we do in the world.
And we fail to see the good that others do, as well.
Jungle Principle #5 is See Your Colleagues Bigger than They See Themselves! We can apply this principle to everyone––our selves, our friends, our family, and even the checkout people at the grocery store––anyone who crosses our path––not just those individuals that we work with.
When we make the effort to focus on the good––what’s going right––it creates an aura of goodwill that permeates all of our relationships and sets the stage for continued success and harmony in our lives.
It’s important to celebrate the wins. When we are compassionate with ourselves, we are more apt to be kind to others. Focusing on what’s working well paves the way for successful relationships, successful projects, and peace in all areas of our life.
Learn to see the best in others. Help them identify with and claim their untapped potential. Everyone needs a cheerleader now and then, a witness to their goodness and their talents. This is how we make our relationships thrive. And while you’re at it, make an inventory of what you do well and be your own best friend.
Focus on the good, and vow to improve what’s not bringing out the greatness in those around you––and even yourself.
Let me know what you discover.
