Tap Into Your Fun Quotient!
This is my birthday week––and I kicked it off with family and friends by having a lot of fun!
On Saturday night, I had an intimate gathering of over 200 of my closest friends and colleagues who took the time to celebrate not only my 60th Birthday but the pre-launch of my book Jungle: A Journey to Peace, Purpose, and Freedom.
It was an amazing evening of great conversations, lots of hugs, music, and dancing! Len Elder was the Master of Ceremonies, Republic of Music played incredible music and the guests supplied the dance moves. Some pretty good dancers showed up!
The venue was the new Children’s Museum in San Diego. That alone invoked the essence of fun. A tree house, small rooms with chalk boards, puppets, inspirational exhibits, and a 10-minute video of my colleagues from UPeace.
Yet, fun shouldn’t just be reserved for special days. We need to have fun everyday––even in our work. If life isn’t as joyful as you’d like it to be, think of ways where you can invoke the essence of fun. Maybe it’s a walk on the beach where you build a sand castle––or a walk in the woods where fairy houses can be created. Maybe it’s time to dance and make faces, or sit in a corner and color. Whatever you need to do, create some space for fun in your life.
We need to get to a place where life doesn’t have to feel so hard. That’s what I discovered on my journey from the corporate jungle to the jungles of Costa Rica and offer in Jungle: A Journey to Peace, Purpose, and Freedom. Come along with me on this journey. You may be closer than you think to making your career and your life, happier, more productive, and absolutely amazing.
